The gap

What AIS doesn't show

AIS is self-reported. A transponder can be switched off, spoofed, or never installed. The vessels that matter most are often the ones that go quiet.

Small craft fall through. Many recreational and small fishing boats aren't required to carry AIS, and a boat in trouble may have lost power entirely.

Coverage is expensive. Traditional coastal radar sites cost too much to place everywhere, which leaves gaps along the shoreline.

Two missions, one network

Built for security and rescue

Maritime security

Find the vessels that go dark

Detect and track vessels operating without AIS so responders know what is moving near the coast, not just what is reporting.

  • Flags radar contacts with no matching AIS signal
  • Persistent watch over approaches and inlets
  • Shared live picture for watchstanders

Search and rescue

Find who needs help, faster

Help locate small or disabled craft by giving rescue teams a live view of what is on the water, even when a boat isn't broadcasting.

  • Sees vessels that have lost power or never carried AIS
  • Narrows the search area before assets launch
  • Supports coordination across responding teams

Our approach

Affordable coverage, by design

We build compact sensor nodes from proven commercial marine components and network them into one shared operating picture. Each node pairs radar detection with a thermal camera, so operators can visually confirm what the radar finds, day or night. The camera can be upgraded to longer-range optics as missions require.

Low-cost nodes

Commercial off-the-shelf marine sensors keep each node affordable to build, deploy, and maintain.

Overlapping coverage

Many small nodes close the gaps a single large site leaves behind, and the network keeps watching if one goes offline.

One live picture

Radar detections from every node come together in a single map that authorized users can open from a browser.

Open architecture

Each node can host partner sensors, such as drone detection, sharing the same power, network, and operating picture, so agencies add capabilities without building new infrastructure.
